BHA Mediation: Mediating on Workplace Disputes

BHA can support you in working towards resolutions to disputes involving a range of situations and settings within workplace. Such issues are primarily focused on preventing a disagreement from becoming a formal dispute, resolving differences and focusing on future working arrangements.

What kinds of workplace disputes can BHA support you with?

  • Disagreements over pay, pensions, or other contractual disputes, including equal pay and TUPE.
  • Disputes over the dismissal of a member of staff, including breaches of contracts, unfair dismissals, redundancy pay, gardening leave and intellectual property.
  • Disputes between members of staff, be that colleague to colleague, colleague to line manager, or even between board members.
  • A situation where there is actual or perceived harassment, discrimination or bullying.
  • Disputes that might otherwise result in a formal disciplinary action being taken.
  • Disputes arising from formal disciplinary action being taken.
  • Issues concerning absent personnel or those returning to work.
  • Conflicts arising from customers, clients or suppliers which involve a member of your staff.
  • Various other disputes as outlined in the Employment Mediation Services section.

Fee structure for managing workplace disputes:

Half Day (for mediating on less complex workplace issues)

  • £499 per party.
  • Provides 3 hours of mediation time.
  • Mediations can take place in mornings, afternoons, evenings or on weekends. (There is an additional charge of £100 per party for weekend mediations)
  • £180 per party per hour is charged for any additional hours where 3 hours proves to be insufficient.
  • Prices exclude VAT, chargeable at 20%.
  • Payment is required 7 days prior to the mediation, unless mediation to take place within the next 7 days, in which case it is payable on receipt of invoice.

Full Day (for typical workplace mediations)

  • £899 per party.
  • Provides 6 hours of mediation time.
  • Mediations can take place in weekdays or on weekends, typically from 10am to 5pm with an hour for lunch between 1 and 2pm. (There is an additional charge of £150 per party for weekend mediations)
  • £180 per party per hour is charged for any additional hours where 6 hours proves to be insufficient.
  • Prices exclude VAT, chargeable at 20%.
  • Payment is required 7 days prior to the mediation, unless mediation to take place within the next 7 days, in which case it is payable on receipt of invoice.

Bespoke (for multi-day or multi-party complex workplace issues)

  • Bespoke pricing based on a range of criteria, specific to the needs of the dispute.
